Herren's Hideaway

Overall Great House
We had a wonderful stay at Heren’s Hideaway. Let me start with the many positives: amazing dock (no bench so bring chairs if you want to sit) for fishing, sandy beach area making it easy to pull up the kayaks and not have to drag them back to the house, great gas grill, lots of space for the ten of us to spread out, plenty of utensils and cookware in kitchen, tons of hot water (that was issue at last house we rented), close to front of plantation so easy to bike to town, cleaned well. There were minor issues (didn’t detract from our great time): silverware and some dishes weren’t very clean (dishwashers seem a bit old, that could be why), fridge water and ice did not taste good so we just bought ice and water, air conditioners leaked around some vents and evidence of water damage around vents, lots of gnats in upstairs master bathroom (not many alive but more and more found dead each day). We were not very bothered by these items so didn’t make rental company aware until we checked out. They were very attentive to our news during the stay (had a chirping smoke detector that got replace within an hour of us calling) and I know they would’ve assisted if we had wanted during our stay. I would not hesitate to rent this house again. There is a lot of brush around the path to the dock so make sure you bring lots of bug spray. If you have a large family (and pet), don’t hesitate to rent this house.

Gorgeous views
We have stayed at many homes on St. George. We enjoyed the spaciousness of this home. Also every room has views of the bay. The kitchen is large and has any type of cooking utensil needed. We were also delighted to see they had several of my uncles paintings as part of their local art work. We will plan to stay here again.

Roomy
This was a roomie get away. Pet friendly and best part of all it has a private dock and is located in the Plantation. Just a few things to update.. the ceiling fan in the lower master suite is unbalanced and makes a horrendous noise when used. The ice machine in the “wet bar” is not working.
