There were a few things that needed to be taken care of at this house. There was a clouded over window facing the ocean, the hall bathroom shower did not work well, there was no working light at the front door, the furniture in the living and dining areas was not arranged to take advantage of the beautiful view. The appliances worked well but the kitchen is fairly dated. The floor plan of the house met our needs quite well and we enjoyed the large deck quite a lot. Also enjoyed being able to park under the house to keep the cars cool.

Golden Ruhl made our vacation!
We've been staying on SGI every year since 2008, sometimes twice a year, & for many years before that on a less than yearly basis. We've stayed in a lot of different houses & different units @Ocean Mile. With the increase in people coming to SGI in the last few years, we were kind of looking elsewhere until after the last 2 weeks. Our stay in Golden Ruhl was a second honeymoon for us in so many ways. For all but the last two days, it was just Beth & I with Heinz, our Dachshund. Golden Ruhl is a well-equipped place (had EVERYTHING but a steamer) and the layout was great and very comfortable. As with any beach rental, there are things that may not be "perfect" but there's nothing that makes you think "I won't come back here". When we had an issue with the toilet in the 2nd bathroom, Collins had someone out there immediately and it was fixed in less than 2 hours after we called. The last few days, friends came to visit & they liked the place & the extra bedroom, except for the lack of a ceiling fan. We all loved the wide spacious deck with the gate at the deck steps to keep Heinz in & Heinz loved going down to the beach and digging for crabs in the sand. The location of the house away from public access meant that our stretch of the beach was never busy. We loved Golden Ruhl & are now looking ahead to 2025 for our next visit. Golden Ruhl
Vacuum did not work. Ceiling air vent was about to fall off. Two of the stove eyes did not work. Washing machine and dryer work great. Ac was cool.
